I first knew I wanted to be a helper when I was a teenager and my own family sought out the assistance of a therapist when my mom and step-dad were separating. The therapist had this amazing ability to translate from teenager to parent – two of the most disparate languages that I could imagine at the time. I remember thinking to myself, wow, I want to be able to help people like that one day.

After a colorful and twisting path, I attended the University of Oregon, graduating with a bachelors in Sociology in 2000. Subsequently I attended Wheelock College, now a school within Boston University, graduating with my master in social work in 2002.

With over 17 years of experience in the field of mental health I have a depth and breadth of experience specific to resources in and around Washington State and the south King County area. I believe that evidence-based practice combined with the creation of meaningful connections, creative and personalized problem solving and the reduction of stress to make room for the changes necessary for healing.

A passionate outdoor enthusiast I’m often out hiking, camping, walking my rescue dog, or riding my motorcycle off road and exploring the great NW with my husband.
